HELICOPTERS (AUSTRALIA) commenced aerial agricultural work operations in the 80's. We pioneered application techniques for aerial top dressing and seedling planting. The helicopter topdressing buckets we use were manufactured by our Parent Companies Engineering Division in New Zealand.

For the application of solids or liquids which require absolute precision, a Satellite Global Positioning guidance system is used. The navigation unit has been modified to fit the AS350BA Squirrel helicopter. Data is recorded on-board the aircraft and subsequently processed by a computer to give an exact printout of the areas treated. The equipment has been used extensively for customers such as Alcoa and Worsley Alumina.
