Domestically HELICOPTERS (AUSTRALIA) has been
at the forefront of aerial fire suppression in Western Australia, with recent
expansion in to Queensland.
Internationally HELICOPTERS (AUSTRALIA) expertise
has been utilised in countries as far away as France.
HELICOPTERS (AUSTRALIA) has four water bombing
AS350B3 Squirrel helicopters and during the respective summer seasons, the
company operates four helicopters on behalf of the Fire
and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia (FESA) and two
helicopters on behalf of the Queensland Fire and Rescue
Service (QFRS), to be on standby for fire suppression.
Each helicopter is role specific equipped and are fitted with a
SIMPLEX Model 310 Fire Attack Belly Tank system
which is able to draw 1,100 litres of water in just 57 seconds, with the
on-board "Snorkel" and water pump.
These water-bombing helicopters provide aerial support
of wild fire suppression in the economically valuable rural/urban
interface and forest industry, in the areas surrounding Perth and Brisbane.
